History The story starts in 1958 when Dolf Schnebli founds his architectural practice, Dolf Schnebli Architetto, in Agno in the canton of Ticino. Isidor Ryser joins the practice, followed in 1960 by Robert Matter, Ernst Engeler and Bernhard Meier. In 1971 the practice becomes a partnership under Swiss law: Dolf Schnebli, Isidor Ryser, Ernst Engeler, Bernhard Meier Architekten, Agno. In 1974 Tobias Ammann joins the company. In 1982 the public limited company of Dolf Schnebli und Tobias Ammann, Architekten BSA und Partner AG is formed. In 1991 the company expands to include Flora Ruchat-Roncati; the name changes to Schnebli Ammann Ruchat Architekten und Partner AG. Its partners are Isidor Ryser, Ernst Engeler, Bernhard Meier, Paolo Kölliker, Markus Meili, Claudio Schmitt and Stephan Rutz. In 1996 Sacha Menz joins the company, now called Schnebli Ammann Ruchat Menz Architekten AG, based in Zürich und Agno. In 1997 sam architekten schnebli ammann menz und partner ag is founded. The partners are Isidor Ryser, Ernst Engeler, Bernhard Meier, Stefan Bogo, Philippe Merlo and Matthias Schmid. Flora Ruchat-Roncati leaves the company, but continues to collaborate on projects. In 2005 schnebli menz sam architekten und partner ag is formed. Tobias Ammann leaves the company, Matthias Schmid joins. In 2006 René Antoniol, Dorette Birker, Hülya Capkin and Sacha Wiesner are accepted as partners. In 2009 the company´s name becomes SAM Architekten und Partner AG. René Antoniol joins. The partners are Dorette Birker, Hülya Capkin, Andrea Gubler, Philippe Monod, Christoph Schneider and Sacha Wiesner. Dolf Schnebli dies on 12 September 2009. In 2010 Matthias Schmid leaves the company. Since 2010 SAM Architekten und Partner AG has been continued under the direction of Sacha Menz and René Antoniol. The partners are Dorette Birker, Andrea Gubler, Philippe Monod and Christoph Schneider.
