An ever changing line of lamps, built up by modules engaged to a shared axis that allows 360 degrees rotation of each module. This innovative concept, called by the authors "Evolutive Lighting Design", allows the dynamic creation of an infinitive range
of forms and shapes. "The idea behind the Evolutive Lighting Design", says Gladys Nistor, " is
the introduction of playfulness to the object, as an invitation to play and reshape it to… enlight
your desires". "The lines where inspired from the concentric unbalances from MAD Architecture
on his project 'Urban Forest", combined with the simple elegance of a Coco Channel flacon or
the classic smoothness of Artdeco design in general…" smiles Gladys.
"We have been looking for an object that would contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle by
creating numerous objects all in one, and thus increasing its appeal on the long run", adds Gabriel
Nistor. "The longer the object “communicates” with you and surprises you, the longer you
will want to keep it, which, in turn, contributes to the reduction of waste and consumption.
"On the same note", continues Gabriel, "we wanted to pursue a 'less is more' approach by reducing
the number of elements involved in the composition to a minimum while nourishing it with
an infinitive spectrum of possibilities…"
Gladys and Gabriel are siblings and working together is quite a new experience for them.
They come from different professional backgrounds, Gladys as a sculptor and Gabriel as a High
Tech Industrial Engineer. They both agree that "it is usually impossible to follow thetracks of an
elaborated idea down to it source. Our communication pattern could be characterized as chaotic
brainstorming sessions where our associated thoughts are eventually synthesized”…
