Moreno Maggi

Moreno Maggi, one of the best known Architectural and Fine Art photographers in Italy, starts his career in 1980 in New York where he lives for ten years working with famous photographers of Architecture (Paul Warchol, James D’Addio, Elliot Fine), of Fine Arts (Jim Kiernan) and annual reports (William Rivelli) at the same time attending courses in fashion and still life photography at the Fashion Istitute of NY. After ten years in the USA, he goes back to Italy where he starts working regularly for the most prominet architectural studios like Studio Fuksas, Renzo Piano Building Workshop, Studio Portoghesi, Studio ABDR etc. He is published in the most important italian magazines of architecture like Casabella, Domus, Area, D’Architettura, A.D., Abitare, The Plan as well as with international magazines like Detail and Tasche in Germany. He partecipates on a regular basis on the major projects of Architectural documentation - modern and historic - together with university professors at leading italian Universities where he is often invited to discuss on architectural photographic themes (Ethic and Estetic etc.). As a member of AIAC (Associazione Italiana di Architettura e Critica), he also teaches courses on architectural photography to university students. Since the beginning he carries out personal visual researches on black and white photography of art on its own and as part of architectural projects. Among other the portfolios from the series of the “Marble sculptures of the Stadio dei Marmi in Rome”, “Rome Baroque” and “Unespected views of Rome”. His photographs have been on show in New York, Washington, Peking, Paris, Rome, Milan, Ancona both in color and black and white. He lives in Rome and New York when he is not traveling all over the world documenting architectural and interior projects.
