Markus Fuerderer is a Manhattan-based lighting designer and senior project manager at OVI - the Office for Visual Interaction, Inc., a firm specialized in lighting design for signature architecture.
At OVI, Markus is working since 2007 on world-class international projects with some of the world’s most celebrated architects. Active in a broader sense, Markus serves as a recurring guest critic for the Lighting Design Program (MFA) at Parsons - The New School for Design.
Born and raised in Germany, Markus received degrees in architecture and product engineering, before he started his professional career with companies such as h4a, Ackermann-Raff and Erco.
His award-winning designs focus on clear, intuitive purism. Markus has cultivated an in-depth knowledge of integrated lighting solutions for both architecture and products – “carving identity from darkness”.
