Karelse & den Besten was founded by Jan Kees Karelse and John den Besten in 1984, after their study at Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam.
Although trained in graphic design and art direction, they both share a broad interest in all sorts of visual communication. Their practice involves graphic design, illustration, interior design and architectural design. Their office is based in Rotterdam. Whenever necessary they hire specialists for technical support.
