Jonathan Clark Architects

Jonathan Clark Architects are an award winning, widely published, enthusiastic and innovative practice providing a high degree of attention and expertise to each individual client. We specialise in bars/restaurants, retail, educational and contemporary domestic projects, details of which can be found throughout this site. We aim to look beyond the ordinary to produce architecture and interiors that not only meet our clients' needs and brief but also exceeds their expectations. Jonathan studied and qualified as an architect at Kingston University and set up his architectural practice in 2002 having spent twelve years working on a wide ranging portfolio of high profile projects for a number of well known architectural firms: Project Architect of ‘Smiths of Smithfield’ bar and restaurant for Wells Mackereth from the initial concept design through to completion of works on site. Prior to that he worked for Future Systems (Lords Media Centre - Stirling Prize winner 1999), Dixon Jones (National Portrait Gallery extension), Munkenbeck + Marshall (HQ and daylight studio for Metro Imaging) and Philip Cox in Sydney (Olympics 2000 Aquatic Centre and city master-planning in Kuwait). We are an RIBA Chartered Practice. “Working with Jonathan was a great success but also a great experience. His vision has transformed our home, the way we live in it, and continues to give us pleasure every day.” Karen & Ted Platt, clients - Canonbury house “I have worked with JCA on a number of different projects and have always been very impressed by them. They always took the time to understand what I was trying to achieve and on each occasion provided me with the best solution and delivered it on time and within budget.” Carlo Ventisei, client - Tinderbox, Mangiare & Progreso Cafes “James MacNamara has an interesting theory about architects. 'They fall into three distinct categories', he explains. 'Some just listen to you and do what you say. Others don't listen to you at all. And some you just click with'. James consulted more than 20 architects before settling on Jonathan Clark.” 'House & Garden' February 2009 Islington apartment feature
