Global Lighting is a New York-based provider of internationally sourced decorative and architectural light fixtures for hospitality environments, retail stores, assisted living facilities, hospitals, commercial environments and landscape design. Founded in 1991, Global Lighting has a storied history as a purveyor and manufacturer of lighting sources chosen by the most sophisticated global designers and destined for the world’s most refined settings.
Larry Lazin created Global Lighting to produce custom fixtures for projects such as the Harley-Davidson Café in Manhattan; the Hyatt Regency in Osaka, Japan; and the China Grill in South Beach, Florida. Identifying materials for these projects led him to the Iberian Peninsula, beginning a relationship with Spanish suppliers and manufacturers that would play a major role in his transition to an import model of business, through which he sources light fixtures in Europe, brings them to the U.S. to modify the electrical components to make them UL-compliant, and sells them in North America.
Through the Mount Vernon, New York-based B2B entity, Lazin curates and distributes these contemporary European lighting collections via a network of showrooms and manufacturing representatives in the United States and Canada. A new B2C presence on the web, Lightolicious is a sister company Lazin founded, which, along with Global Lighting, falls under the umbrella of New York Lights, a production company through which he directs his varied business interests. As a businessman who sources products from Europe, he has been featured in The New York Times.
The fixtures Global Lighting distributes exclusively in the North American marketplace have been included in the interiors of some of the world’s most respected brands, including Disney Cruise Line, Apple, Google, Mandarin Oriental, CNN, Gucci and Four Seasons. And the company was recently honored by being the only lighting distributor in the world to be included in the Rolls Royce Owners’ Club Yearbook, published for the North American owners of new and vintage Rolls Royce and Bentley automobiles. It is a sumptuous coffee table book produced by St. James’s House out of London to celebrate the organization’s 110th anniversary. No other industry understands quality like the luxury car market so this nod proves the company’s concentration on quality and service has placed it in excellent company. This About Us page will be updated as the distributor forges into new territory to be sure to check back often!
