Philip Ross, design director
Born and raised in Deurne, the Netherlands, Philip was educated as Industrial Designer at Delft University of Technology. During his study he developed and demonstrated consistently excellent designers skills in the field of interactive product design. It was in those times he became friends with Kamiel and they enjoyed socialising and working together ever since.
After his cum laude Master’s degree, Philip continued exploring new paradigms in interactive product design as a PhD at Eindhoven University of Technology, specialising in intelligent lighting. Philip co-founded Fonckel after his PhD degree, strongly believing in the potential of putting the theory to practice.
Philip is unquestionably a multi-talent. Philip is an avid jazz guitar player, writing songs for his band Mr. Luca. In addition he is a Salsa dancer and an entertaining speaker. Philip lives together with his girlfriend Mascha and daughter Mae in Eindhoven.
Hans Filippini, commercial director
Born in Nijmegen and raised in Grave, Hans studied Business economics and Law in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and got his Master Degree in Management at University Nyenrode. During his study time, one of the internships took place in Paris, where he learned to speak basic French.
In his professional career he specifically focused on sales and marketing. He worked as account manager for an international document solutions company and as the head of Product Management & Innovation department for a company in financial services. It was the summer of 2010 he was asked by Kamiel and Philip to join the company. He took this opportunity gladly and became a full-time entrepreneur.
Hans is an active and involved person. He enjoys living in the city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch and likes to travel wherever his job takes him.
Kamiel de Leur, managing director
Born and raised in Amsterdam, Kamiel received education at Delft University of Technology, resulting in a Master of Science in Industrial Design Engineering. In Delft, he developed a passion for product development, especially within an international context.
He was able to learn and explore the commercial side of product development working for a well-known Dutch brewer at various positions.
Establishing Fonckel combines all his passions: management, design, engineering and commercial expertise. His drive is to take respected scientific research to the daily life of consumers. Kamiel lives in Utrecht with his wife Ilse and daughter Miral.
