Cullinan Studio was established by RIBA Royal Gold Medallist, Ted Cullinan, in 1965 and are based in Islington, north London.
Cullinans is a practice with an international reputation for creating well-designed, sustainable, innovative and award-winning buildings and places; all of which provide the best possible environment for their users. We are collaborative architects and pride ourselves on our excellent working relationships with our clients, which has resulted in site specific, intelligent and flexible design solutions.
In 2010 we were awarded both Architectural Practice of the Year by Building Magazine and Public Architect of the Year at BD's Architect of the Year Awards.
Our experience and knowledge has been built up sector by sector, including cultural, educational, residential, commercial, health and public buildings and masterplans.
We have recently completed and are currently working on a range of innovative buildings, including: the ground breaking BFI Master Film Store that will preserve the nation's irreplaceable collection of acetate and nitrate film; the John Hope Gateway, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh; a New Herbarium, Library, Art and Archives Wing, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew; a new Library and IT Centre for Fitzwilliam College in Cambridge; the Stonebridge Hillside Hub with 60 mixed-tenure flats above a community centre, health centre and convenience store; and a carbon-neutral masterplan for Shahat Garden City in Libya.
