The studio aims to create architectural work of a distinct personal nature, with a strong sense of character. An open architecture, void of dogma where the design proposal draws upon its strength to define its own rules.
Projects are not developed in a constant quest for the 'new'. Recurring themes like permanence, physical presence, abstraction and a strong and direct relationship with the environment are common traits in projects.
The relationship of the envisaged solutions with the archetypes of an a priori architecture is equally a recurring theme. This approach encourages the use of simple elements that, when used as part of a composition, can be read at various levels.
These principles were applied in the development of various projects, notably a family home in Charrat, a double villa in Geneva and more recently a small residence in Givrins.

Valéry Clavien and Nicolas Rossier are both graduates from the Engineering and Architectural institute of Fribourg in Switzerland. Their office was established in 2008, in Geneva.

They have recently received prizes at the 'bestarchitects 12' and 'Best Umbauten' awards.
