Baranowitz & Goldberg

Irene Goldberg . Architect Irene Goldberg graduated from the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow in 1997. She had worked with Architect Pitsou Kedem for many years, ever since the practice was founded, and led the design schemes and concepts for many of the projects in the office, including those of the commercial spaces. In 2014 Irene and Pitsou have founded the brand Object – small scale designs – a collaboration in which the two create every-day objects that complement the architecture they build. Sigal Baranowitz . Interior Architect Sigal Baranowitz graduated from The New York School of Interior Design in Manhattan in 2001. In 2005 Sigal has founded her first design studio, Baranowitz Amit Interiors & Product, partnering with Interior Architect Gali Amit. For a decade the two had specialized in the design of commercial spaces that included restaurants, retail spaces, offices and showrooms. Sigal is a also a guest professor at the Technion-Israel’s institute of Technology Continuing Education Program in Haifa and acts as a guest lecturer at different academic institutions in Israel Baranowitz & Goldberg Architects Irene & Sigal first met while working in collaboration with Architect Pitsou Kedem on the designs of different commercial spaces. After a few years of successful joint work the two decided to establish their own practice as well as an on-going partnership with Pitsou Kedem, not only in commercial but also in residential design. Irene & Sigal’s comprehensive experience in different fields of design allow the studio’s work to vary and include all scales of design. Whether it be a product or a building, finding the story that will ignite the creative process is the leading principle of their work. When created within a strong conceptual framework creativity can turn to unpredictable yet coherent directions and the studio’s goal is to allow each project to pave its way toward a unique architectural interpretation. The studio’s projects are also characterized with a playful balance between art and design while adhering to strict yet poetic principles of proportion, and a true integration between conceptual thought and functionalism.
