ACG Architects and Development Planners was founded in September 1993 by architects Hassan Asmal and Malcolm Campbell, ermerging as one of the leading practices in South Africa. From modest beginnings eighteen years ago the practice has grown and matured into a highly structured, organised and efficient platform from which a cohesive team of architects and planners delivers uncompromising levels of service under the leadership of the founding partners. The practice is headquartered in Cape Town and has an international office in Johannesburg serving Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Angola. ACG West Africa is based in Ghana (Accra) and ACG East Africa is located in Kenya (Nairobi). ACG Architects & Development Planners offers all standard architectural services as well as a number of specialised services. Our expertise covers a wide range of building types; retail, commercial, residential, transport and recreation. ACG also has a Housing Unit which specialises in affordable housing and community development projects. Other specialised integrated ACG Units include the Urban Design Unit, the Landscaping Unit, the Development Unit and the Project Management Unit. A number of our projects are the recipients of local and national awards, and most of them have been published locally. Three of our buildings have been published internationally.
