The gallery of the Academy of Art, Architecture, and Design in Prague was established in 2000 and since 2001 it has had a regular exhibition schedule. Every year, the gallery hosts around ten shows. The AAAD gallery seeks to strike a balance between retrospective exhibitions and exhibitions of contemporary art and aims at reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the school. The AAAD gallery focuses on young artists and curators, who represent the creative potential for the next decade. The exhibition committee, which is composed of representatives of vocational schools and the public, ensures the quality of the exhibition program. The committee choses projects for the gallery from applicants who take part in a publicly announced competition.
The AAAD gallery holds the Artsemestr exhibition of final works twice a year, in addition to a yearly dissertation exhibition. The gallery is closed for the holidays
