Equal Measure™ is the latest carpet tile collection from Interface®, designed by David Oakey. The collection represents a return to simplified design. The 'always on' world we live in has resulted in more information coming at us than ever before both at home and at work. Most people live in urban areas and with the majority of our time spent inside, it’s hardly surprising we long for nature and the outdoors.

With Equal Measure, Interface continues exploring biophilic design and the relationship between natural elements and wellbeing. The Human Spaces Report, a research study conducted in sixteen countries representing over three billion people, indicates that spaces with biophilic elements can provide increases in wellbeing, productivity and creativity. The organic movements, subtle variations and tranquil colourways of Equal Measure are designed to elicit positive biophilic responses, just like more literal recreations of natural elements.

The Equal Measure collections consists of three 25 x 100 cm Skinny Planks, with varying degrees of texture and pattern. The pattern resembles a cobblestone street, resembling the combination of natural materials and man-made structures. The styles can be used on their own, or can be combined for smooth transitions or playful accents.

Equal Measure is a carpet tile that is market-leading in aesthetics as well as functionality.

It features 100% recycled nylon yarn, sourced partially from reclaimed fishing nets. State-of-the-art tufting technology is used to produce unmatched variation in colour and texture, creating a tapestry-like surface. The Skinny Planks format offers new design possibilities in pattern and product combinations.

The three products offer a range of textures, making it possible to create a transition that spans on a big scale.

Equal Measure is the next step in biophilic design. The variation in texture and pattern remains, but is no longer a literal analogue to nature. Inspired by the traditional cobblestone streets found all over the world, Equal Measure evokes a sense of recognition and excitement at the same time. The classic, irregular look of a street is combined with the soft luxury of carpet tile and all its associated benefits. The subdued colour palette offers refuge from the high-intensity environment that is the open office.
